Relationships And Accumulating The Right Things
Bringing the right stuff into a relationship will be important 100% of the time, and though just about every relationship brings stuff to it, whether it's physical or more intangible, just about every marriage professional says that it's important for both in the relationship to decide what stuff eventually enters it. This is as true for furniture as it is for children.
For men in a relationship, it's especially important to remember that one should never make huge financial decisions on one's own, or they will risk the wrath of a seriously angry wife or significant other. So if there are any men out there thinking about dropping a fat wad of cash on a brand-new powerboat without discussing it first, they should quickly drop that idea or risk certain injury.
Another fine example when it comes to men and the financial decisions they make when they go about accumulating things in relationships is when they once were enthusiasts or fanatics about something. Maybe there's a guy out there who really was a very good guitarist and played in a lot of bands. He's got the itch to play once again and is thinking about dropping five grand on a new left handed electric guitar. If he's smart, he discusses it prior to purchase, though.
Almost all relationships work better when they are looked at by the two people in the relationship as a real partnership. When it comes to the accumulation of actual physical things in the relationship, such as the brand-new GE oven for the brand-new kitchen, discussing it and hashing it out well ahead of time is a good way of helping one to figure out what's truly wanted and what is really needed. There's a difference between the two, honestly.
Things really begin to get complicated when babies start entering into the mix that makes up a relationship. When it comes to children, every decision takes on a great deal of importance, right down to deciding the brand of stroller (Graco stroller?) that the little nipper will ride around in when he or she has a 'baby's day out' adventure. If you are a guy, never make the decision about baby things without your relationship mate.
The thing about relationships is that all of them take work, though it also takes work to even get to the reason for why they require effort if they are to succeed over the long run. It's great to have a lot of good stuff in a relationship but one that is founded upon purely material things will never last as long as one that is founded on the more intangible things like respect, love and appreciation.
In the end, relationships and accumulating the right things should be more about accumulating the right intangible things such as respect, admiration and even love. After those three things have been gathered it then becomes much easier to work on accumulating all of the good little toys that men and women seem to want to bring to any relationship, so remember what the aim is when going into a new pairing.
