Why is day trading referred to as "Playing the Stocks" I am not messing around
I agree and I dont play the stock market either. I don't "play" the market either. I don't even know where the phrase "playing the stock market" even comes from. A good investor, understands that this term has probably misled you into thinking this is good thing to do on your own IT IS NOT.
YOU will find risk in any investment, a true investor will be calculated well researched enough to warrant the associated risk with whatever move you will decide to make.
To profit one should consider that high-risk stocks do have the potential to go through the roof, the CHANCES of profiting are slim though. (I once had a professor in college tell my class that we each individually had a better chance of being randomly chosen to be a . Senator than we had of winning the Super Lotto Jackpot!).
Trading stocks is not something for a novice? I'd argue you could ask the same question of someone who'd been doing it for many years. The answer is NO. The idea of not working and instead being a "day trader" works for fewer than 20% of those who try it, and the successful ones don't have time to go to the bathroom. You probably want to do something else, long term investors are lucky to be able to do that. Wouldn’t you rather be doing what you like to do.
The joy of being a financial advisor is seeing my client benefit from a long term investing goal and reaching it sooner then they think. This is my job and this is why I do it, to help people like you have financial freedom.
Another thing I hear from a few people is that since they either own their own business or are above average in their corporate career, or even that they're in a very intellectually demanding job, that it only makes sense that they are smart enough to do their own investing. Just as in your day job it took time for you to climb to the top, sound financial wisdom follows the same method. To invest without emotion is not an easy task financial advisors help to make this part easier.
Seeing the big picture sometimes takes a coach or mentor to help you, step back, define your goals, and reach them. Long-term investors are involved in the stock market and will never say they are playing.
