How To Retire, Stay Young And Make Some Money
Retiring is not something everyone looks forward to. Your reason might simply be that you do not have sufficient money to retire. You might be afraid of the boredom and isolation that retirement might bring. Your office buddies might visit a few times, but then suddenly the house will grow eerily quiet. When you wake up in the morning there will be nothing to look forward to.
We would like to present you with a way to solve both problems at the same time: Start blogging. During a lifetime of working, traveling and interacting with other people you have no doubt picked up valuable life experience that many other people would like to hear about.
If money is the reason why you are interested: you could certainly make money blogging. There are several ways. One of them is Google Adsense. All you have to do is sign up for an account with Google and then display their ads on the pages of your blog. They will give you a share of the advertising income when someone clicks on one of the ads. Another option is an affiliate program. There are thousands of affiliate programs on the Internet. Sign up, get the code to display their banner on your pages and if someone buys a product or service from them you will get a commission.
You don't have to do this full time. You can do it as often or as seldom as you want. The money from the ads and affiliate sales will supplement your retiring income.
Writing a blog is not just about money though. It will give you new purpose in life. People who read your blogs will often comment on what you write. The whole process is interactive. You will not only be sharing your life experience and views with other people – they will also share theirs with you. In this way you will most likely make many new friends. Some of them in far-away places. Others perhaps close enough so you could meet personally over a cup of coffee.
Something else to keep in mind is that you will be able to do this as long as your eyesight is good enough. There are many eighty year old bloggers. While many other things in life will gradually fade away, while old friends will die or no longer be able to visit, your new online friends will still be there to exchange ideas with.
You don't need to be physically fit to do this. You could be in a wheelchair. Even if you can no longer use your fingers to type, you can nowadays use voice recognition software to let the computer type your blog entries for you. Don't let your voice become silent before long before it's time – there is another way.
